This tour brings you right to the heart of the majestic and spectacular Atlas Mountains. In the shadows of the highest peak, Toubkal, you will ride through a warren of endless and exciting single-track trails.

This part of the Atlas Mountains hides an amazing  network of mule paths and trails built hundreds of years ago by the Berbers. It’s here, you’ll discover the magic of the Berber land and see picturesque Berber villages tucked away in remote valleys. You’ll also climb to the higher plateaus providing truly beautiful vistas before plunging down along long descents on fast running and technical single-track.

This is an epic mountain/ enduro-bike tour. You’ll get to see the landscapes and experience true Moroccan culture up close as well as experience the famous Berber hospitality.

Day 1

High Atlas Single-track/ MTB day

Your tour's guide meet you at your hotel at 08h30. They'll brief you on what you can expect from the day and what we expect from you. Our guides are knowledgeable and informed. They’re a great source to better understand what you need to get the most out of your day with us - anything from advice on clothing layers to nutrition.

Following the brief, it’s on the minibus and driving south. You’ll leave Marrakesh’s frenetic energy behind. In front of you, the Atlas Mountains will start opening up. If it’s a clear day, you’ll be able to see some of the highest peaks in the whole range - which is exactly where you’re heading for your adventure!

Past the Ourika Valley, the road will start to wind skywards towards the high plateaus. From here, you may be able to see Oukaimden (a ski resort that's 2,500m above sea level)! It’s here that you’ll start your biking adventure.

You’ll head along a jeep track to the head of the first single-track section. The first section is technical and traverses a scree mule trail that will deliver you into a photogenic valley. Local Berber villagers are always amazed to see bikers on their trails.

You’ll hop onto another jeep track connecting you with the next leg of the day’s adventure. Although, there is an easy climb to get there, too. But, it’s all worth it. The next section is an unforgettable single-track descent over a variety of terrain - some of the descent even goes through a pine forest!

When you reach the village of Tacht, it’s time for lunch! For lunch, you will be hosted by a local Berber family in their home. You’re in for a treat. Moroccan people love food and love to host people! You will be well fed. Plus, this is a unique opportunity to look inside a Berber family’s home and see more of their day-to-day life!

After a well-deserved rest, it’s time to get riding again. You’ll have a quick 3km warm-up before starting another incredible single-track on a slate grippy crest! The stage ends on the plains where the 4x4 will meet you for the short drive back to Marrakesh when we drop you back to your accommodation.

Atlas Mountain Singletrack Enduro

We booked originally booked a one day Singletrack Enduro day in the Atlas Mountains with Maroc Nature. I expected it to be good but not this good!!!! It was so good that we did another ride with them the day after, we can’t stop talking about these rides since we have got back, it was such an experience. As well as the singletracks themselves being brilliant, the people we met, the food, the views and the whole flow and organisation of the days were perfect. Maroc Nature is a very professionally run organisation.
Hisham was an excellent guide, he collected us from our Riad in the morning and then we drove with Mohammed into the mountains (Mohammed is a very calm driver with nerves of steel on the windy mountain roads!). The Cannondale bikes we used were in as new condition and they set them up to suit us before the start of each ride. They also provided pads and helmets, also in great condition.
We are also telling everyone we know to go and do some rides with youJI don’t know what to say about the Atlas Mountains – they are incredible! Morocco is such a beautiful country and these rides really help you to appreciate that, I’m not sure how much time Hisham has to spend exploring to find these routes but I think he must know the mountains better than anyone else in Morocco. We went to some amazingly remote places. Hisham went ahead a lot and stopped to take photos for us which was really nice. On the second day we started the ride on another singletrack at a Berber village where we had some lunch in Said’s house before loading our bikes onto Said’s mule to hike to the start of the decent – we loved meeting Said, everyone we met were really welcoming towards us. Both days were planned really well, all our meals were taken care of, water and snacks provided. Thanks so much to Hisham and Mohammed, we are definitely coming back and saving up for next December

Best Single Track Mtb Trail Ever!

I met Hassan at my hotel lobby, who was more than happy to come out and meet myself, and my brother to arrange our bike expedition. The next day we were promptly met by himself and his team at our hotel. We were driven up to our destination in a 4x4, which took approximately two hours but we did stop for rest and drinks.
I was provided with gloves, helmet and a good quality Cannondale full suspension bike. The guide Ridwan was very knowledgeable and an expert MTB rider. The trail was 35 km long high in the Atlas mountains, it may have been mount Tamatert, but I'm not 100%. The views were exceptional and did not come close to any trail I have ever done. The trail was a little tough but Ridwan was always at hand to offer support and advice throughout. We stopped midway through the trail for lunch, (mint tea and a delicious homemade kofte tagine, yummy!) Now that we were refueled and full of energy, I was eager to finish the last 8 km or so. This last stretch was amazing, it was mostly downhill, very fast and refreshing.
Thank you Hassan, Ridwan and Hicham for a memorable and fulfilling experience, I would highly recommend Maroc nature to anyone interested. I am already organizing my next trip, see you soon.
